About Koble Collaborative
Koble Collaborative is a connection-driven consulting and facilitation practice focused on building resilient communities. We bring people, ideas, and systems together to help organizations navigate complexity and move from vision into action. Through trust-based partnerships, strategic planning, and facilitated dialogue, we support communities in aligning around shared goals and building lasting momentum.
The name Koble comes from a Norwegian word meaning to connect. That idea of connection sits at the heart of everything we do because communities are strongest when people come together with trust, shared purpose, and a willingness to collaborate.
Our Story
Koble Collaborative was founded by Carolyn Berg after nearly two decades in public service working on complex regional initiatives across San Luis Obispo County. Through her work in water resources planning, public health, housing, climate resilience, and economic development, she saw firsthand that meaningful progress rarely comes from technical solutions alone—it comes from connection.
After years of leading large regional collaborations, Carolyn founded Koble Collaborative to focus fully on the human side of complex work: building trust, facilitating dialogue, and helping diverse partners align around shared goals. Koble exists to help communities navigate complexity with clarity, collaboration, and care.
The name Koble comes from a Norwegian word meaning to connect. Connection is central to the firm’s philosophy and reflects the Scandinavian values that influence the team’s approach—humility, openness, trust, and respect for community. These values guide how Koble designs processes, builds partnerships, and supports leaders working through difficult challenges.
